Wipro, one of India’s leading IT firms, has taken a decisive step by enforcing a new work-from-office policy.
Starting November 15, all employees are mandated to be physically present at their assigned office location for at least three days each week.
This policy adjustment reflects Wipro’s commitment to fostering teamwork, face-to-face interactions, and strengthening its organizational culture.
Wipro Policy Details
Employees must attend the office for a minimum of three days per week. Non-adherence or non-compliance with this policy could result in disciplinary action, effective from January 7, 2024.
If an employee fails to meet the three-day requirement, the management will deduct a day of leave for each day missed in the office.
In an email sent by Wipro’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Saurabh Govil, the company emphasized the benefits of in-person collaboration. Face-to-face interactions enhance teamwork, creativity, and overall productivity.
By requiring employees to spend more time in the office, Wipro aims to create a conducive work environment that balances remote work flexibility with the advantages of physical presence.

Impact on the Industry
The software services industry, valued at $245 billion, has faced challenges in recent times. Wipro’s decision reflects a broader trend among IT companies to encourage employees to return to office locations.
While remote work during the pandemic was essential, companies now seek a balance that leverages both in-person collaboration and remote flexibility.
