A provider of coworking spaces, including physical and virtual shared spaces, WeWork has announced an extended break for its employees in India on the occasion of Diwali.

WeWork has introduced a 10-day break for employees. The company said it wants to prioritize the mental health and well-being of its employees.

WeWork already offers 10 days of workation where the employees can travel to any location across the country and work.

Priti Shetty, Chief People and Culture Officer at WeWork, said, “2022 was an eventful year for us as our business grew stronger and exceeded all internal benchmarks set for employees and members.”

“Our success as a brand is a direct result of the hard work of our colleagues. The 10-day break is a gesture of appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit of every WeWork employee”, Priti Shetty added.

Priti Shetty further said, “Taking time out to reset and recharge is so important, which is why we’ve decided to make the 10-day Diwali vacation an annual ritual.”

Recently, Meesho announced an 11-day companywide break from October 22, 2022, to November 1, 2022, for the second year in a row.

Called Reset and Recharge, this industry-first initiative will allow Meeshoites to completely unplug from work and prioritize their mental well-being after the busy festive sale period.

With a deep focus on the holistic well-being of employees, the move is a reflection of Meesho’s continued commitment to building a people-centric workplace, one that truly looks after its employees — our greatest asset.

At a time when burnout and anxiety have emerged as key concerns for today’s workforce, Reset and Recharge will show the way for other companies to adopt similar employee-first practices.

WeWork provides flexible workspace solutions, including traditional offices, shared workspaces, and office suites with private amenities. WeWork operates in more than 700 locations globally in 150 cities and 38 countries.
