In the last week of April this year, online stock trading company Zerodha has pitched permanent work from home as a measure that enables people to move out of larger cities and in turn serve as an “answer to many of India’s problems”.

Today in an interview with moneycontrol, the company’s CEO and co-founder Nithin Kamath said, “Nearly 950 of broking firm Zerodha’s 1100 employees will work from home permanently and the core team will work on a hybrid model.”

He added, “85-90% of our team is working from home and we will continue to do so.” The company has also set up an office in Belagavi, Karnataka.

“We have a taken a call that we would do permanent work from home and people are enjoying living in their small towns.” he further added.

Nithin Kamath said on hiring, “We are also now hiring for permanent WFH positions for our Customer support team & soon for other teams as well. I’m hoping that other businesses who can, will also move whatever jobs possible to permanent WFH and nudge their teams to make this transition”
