On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Union Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary celebrated the achievements of 100 distinguished entrepreneurs from across India.

The event, hosted at Kaushal Bhawan, aimed to recognize the pivotal role these entrepreneurs play in driving the nation’s growth and innovation under the Skill India Mission.

Union Minister: Celebrating Entrepreneurial Achievements

The entrepreneurs, invited by the Government of India, were honoured as special guests at the Republic Day parade.

This recognition underscores their contributions to the nation’s economic development and their role in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Minister Chaudhary commended the entrepreneurs for elevating India’s reputation as a source of skilled talent.

Returning from the Annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Minister Chaudhary shared insights from his interactions with global business leaders.

He highlighted that India’s skilled workforce is gaining immense global recognition, with the talent pool being widely appreciated.

Discussions at Davos revolved around sustainability, emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, and a focus on women-led development.

India’s Start-up Ecosystem: Impact of the Skill India Mission

India’s start-up ecosystem is the largest in the world, with 118 unicorns valued at $354 billion.

Visionary policies, effective execution, and the resilience of entrepreneurs drive this success.

The MSME sector underscores its critical role by comprising 63 million enterprises and employing over 11 crore people.

Additionally, it contributes 30% to the GDP and 45% to exports.

The transformative impact of the Skill India Mission was noted, emphasizing its role in empowering youth and fostering self-reliance (AtmaNirbhar Bharat).

Minister Chaudhary highlighted the hard work of entrepreneurs from diverse regions, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and the Northeast.

Union Minister: Recognizing Trailblazing Entrepreneurs

Special recognition was given to Ritendra Prasad, an entrepreneur and resident of Ramgarh, Jharkhand.

He graduated in Electricals and Electronics from AVIT Chennai and has a decade-long experience in the solar energy sector.

He underwent an Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) from NIESBUD and then opened his own solar business.

A particularly notable moment of the event was the recognition of 16 trailblazing entrepreneurs from the Northeast. This group included nine women entrepreneurs.

Among them were Namita M. Marak from Dhubri district, Assam, and Mandira Baglary from Udalguri district.

The organizers celebrated these remarkable women for their resilience and success despite significant challenges.
