According to TOI report, the second-largest professional services network company, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK Chair Kevin Ellis has advised the young employees to work from office 4-5 days a week otherwise, ‘AI may replace you’.

PwC UK chair Kevin Ellis also said that the AI is “replacing tasks that used to be training grounds for our junior staff.”

Kevin Ellis has emphasized the importance of face-to-face collaboration and development, advocating for younger employees.

Earlier in November according to the findings of the latest EY CEO Outlook Pulse survey said that the UK CEOs are accelerating investments in generative AI (GenAI) to maintain a competitive advantage, but most are facing challenges in developing and implementing AI strategies.

The survey of 100 UK CEOs which provides insights on AI, capital allocation, investment, sustainability, and transformation strategies found that nearly all respondents (99%) are making or planning significant capital investments in GenAI in the next 12 months, with 51% funding investments by reallocating capital from other investment budgets.

Almost three-quarters (74%) of UK CEOs believe their organization must act now on GenAI to avoid giving their competitors a strategic advantage.

Most are already taking tangible steps to embed AI into their organization – 54% said they had hired new talent with relevant AI skill sets, while 42% had established AI pilots and partnerships with multiple companies.

On the other hand IT giants in India, including Wipro, TCS, and Infosys, that have also transitioned to office-based work models.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has ended the hybrid work policy and asked its employees to work from office 5 days a week since October 1, 2023.

Wipro has updated its mandatory hybrid work policy since November 15 and in case the employees don’t follow the updated policies they will face consequences. Infosys has instructed employees to work from office (WFO) at least three days a week.
