Deloitte Appoints Suresh Kanwar as Managing Partner for Financial Services

Deloitte, one of the world’s leading professional services firms, has announced the appointment of Suresh Kanwar as the new Managing Partner for its UK Financial Services division.

Effective from March 1, 2025, Suresh succeeds Richard Hammell, who has transitioned to the role of Clients and Markets Leader after a successful five-year tenure.

Richard Hammell, the outgoing Managing Partner, significantly contributed to the development of Deloitte’s Financial Services practice.

Under Suresh’s leadership, Deloitte aims to address key industry trends, including digital transformation, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.

As the new Managing Partner, Suresh aims to lead Deloitte’s Financial Services division.

Suresh Kanwar’s Background and Expertise

Suresh Kanwar brings over 25 years of experience in advising and delivering solutions for European and global financial services institutions.

Before assuming his new role, Suresh led Deloitte UK’s Banking and Capital Markets team, where he specialized in implementing large-scale business and technological transformations.

His career began at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1998, where he served as a Managing Director in the Capital Markets business before joining Deloitte as a partner in 2016.

Suresh’s extensive expertise spans across banking, insurance, investment management, and real estate sectors.

His proven track record in driving innovation and managing complex global projects positions him as a key leader in Deloitte’s efforts to navigate the challenges of a dynamic financial landscape.
