Truecaller Appoints Gaurav Loomba to Lead Public Affairs in India

Truecaller, a leading global communications platform, has named Gaurav Loomba as the new Senior Director of Public Affairs for India.

Gaurav brings with him extensive experience, having previously served as Assistant Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at Paytm.

Additionally, he has held significant roles at the National Payments Corporation of India and ICICI Bank.

This appointment follows the recent joining of Seema Jindal, another industry veteran from Bharti Airtel. Seema now leads Truecaller’s Public Affairs for the telecom sector.

Truecaller is dedicated to strengthening its Public Affairs mandate in India, its largest market with over 383 million users.

Gaurav will report directly to Kari Krishnamurthy, Truecaller’s Chief Commercial Officer.

New Roles & Responsibilities at Truecaller

Kari Krishnamurthy welcomed Gaurav, stating, “Gaurav Loomba’s expertise in Public Affairs marks a pivotal step as we deepen our focus on India.”

He added, “His regulatory expertise and ability to cultivate meaningful stakeholder engagement will strengthen our partnerships and advance our strategic goals in telecommunications.”

Expressing his excitement about the new role, Gaurav stated, “I am pleased to announce my appointment as the Senior Director of Public Affairs at Truecaller.”

He added, “The primary objective will be to enhance our engagement with government ministries and agencies, developing strategies that secure comprehensive policy and regulatory support, and reaffirming Truecaller’s commitment to the Indian market.”

Gaurav Loomba’s Extensive Experience

Gaurav Loomba joins Truecaller with two decades of experience in financial services and digital payments.

He has played a crucial role in building relationships with government bodies and industry associations to drive policy and regulatory reforms.

Furthermore, he has overseen CSR and ESG initiatives.

At Truecaller, he will collaborate closely with government agencies to develop and execute a public affairs strategy.

This strategy aims to ensure the company receives the necessary regulatory and policy support for its growth in India.
