Females contribute a major contribution to the workforce keeping in mind Rishi Sunak took LinkedIn to announce the childcare benefits for working parents in the Spring Budget.

Rishi Sunak on LinkedIn said, “For too many, a career break becomes a career end. That’s why two weeks ago in the Spring Budget we announced a revolution in childcare.”

“It’s a big step. But the right one. And this is why. Almost half of the non-working mothers say they would prefer to work if they could arrange suitable childcare. Female participation in our workforce is higher than average for OECD economies, but we fall behind countries like the Netherlands and Denmark“, the post added.

The post further said, “If we matched the Dutch, there would be more than one million more women working today. Every parent rightly wants to care for and support their child, especially in their early years.”

“But the cost of childcare is such that this too often comes at the expense of a career. This isn’t good for parents. It’s not good for workplaces. It’s not good for the economy and it’s not good for this country’s growth”, the post further said.

“So we’re improving things by:
– Providing 30 hours of free childcare for eligible working parents of children between nine and 36 months, with support being fully rolled out by September 2025.
– Increasing nursery funding by £204 million from this September, rising to £288 million next year
– Funding schools and local authorities to increase the supply of wraparound care so parents can drop their children off between 8 am and 6 pm
– Paying childcare costs upfront to parents moving into work or increasing their hours on Universal Credit
Find out how you can benefit here: https://lnkd.in/d5DPEYgz“, the post concluded.

  • If you are working.
  • If your income (and your partner’s income, if you have one).
  • Additionally, your child’s age and circumstances.
  • Depends on your immigration status.

You can get 30 hours of free childcare while claiming Universal Credits, tax credits, childcare vouchers, or Tax-Free Childcare.
