Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has officially launched registrations for IndiaSkills 2025, the country’s largest vocational skills competition.
This biennial initiative aims to identify, nurture, and celebrate India’s most talented youth across 63 skill categories, preparing them to represent the nation at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition 2026.
Registrations are now open via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) and will remain active until September 30, 2025.
Purpose and Vision of IndiaSkills 2025
IndiaSkills 2025 is designed to:
- Promote excellence in vocational training.
- Encourage youth to pursue careers in skilled trades and emerging technologies.
- Align with the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on vocational pathways.
- Build a future-ready workforce capable of competing globally.
The competition also serves as a gateway to WorldSkills 2026, the world’s largest international skills event, where young professionals from over 85 countries compete in more than 60 skill areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Group: 16–25 years.
- General eligibility: Born on or after January 1, 2004.
- For advanced tech skills (e.g., Cyber Security, Mechatronics, Aircraft Maintenance): Born on or after January 1, 2001.
- Nationality: Open to all Indian citizens.
- Skill Selection: Each participant may apply for only one skill.
Skill Categories
Participants can choose from 63 skill disciplines, ranging from traditional trades like carpentry and welding to cutting-edge fields such as:
- Cloud Computing
- Additive Manufacturing
- Industry 4.0
- Optoelectronic Technology
- Water Technology
- Dental Prosthetics
Both individual and team-based competitions are included, with categories aligned to WorldSkills International standards.
Selection Process
IndiaSkills 2025 follows a two-track approach:
Track I: State-Level Competitions
- Conducted by State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs).
- Focused on skills selected by respective states and union territories.
Track II: Sector Skill Council Competitions
- Managed by Sector Skill Councils (SSCs).
- Covers skills not opted by states/UTs.
Winners from both tracks will advance to:
- Regional Skill Competitions (RSCs) across five zones: North, South, East, West, and Northeast.
- Boot camps for intensive training.
- IndiaSkills National Competition, centrally organized by MSDE.
Top performers will receive expert mentorship and training to prepare for WorldSkills 2026.
Registration Process
Participants must register via the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH):

- Complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC.
- Fill out personal, educational, and skill-related details.
- Team participants must add verified teammates through OTP-based consent.
