Microsoft Research Fellows Program 2024; Apply before Feb 16

An American multinational technology corporation, Microsoft in India is inviting applications for the Research Fellow Program 2024. 

The Research Fellows (RF) Program at Microsoft Research India (MSRI) exposes bright, young minds in India to world-class research and state-of-the-art technology. The program prepares students for careers in research, engineering, as well as entrepreneurship. 

On the hiring process, Microsoft said, ” We evaluate candidates based on a combination of factors including academic performance, raw smarts, development skills, and proven ability or aptitude for research and software development.”

“Microsoft offers an inclusive work environment, and we value diversity in our workforce”, the company added.

The candidates should have completed BS/BE/BTech or MS/ME/MTech in Computer Science or related areas, graduating by summer 2024. The nomination deadline for Fall 2024 is extended to 16th February 2024.

Research Fellows Roles

The Research Fellows will work out of the Microsoft Research (Lavelle Road office) in Bangalore. The selected candidates spend 1 to 2 years at MSR India.

  1. Different roles require a different combination of skills.
  2. Current and past RFs have worked on: solving deep theoretical problems, pushing the boundaries of AI, designing new programming languages, fieldwork in rural India, prototyping communication and sensing hardware, optimizing database queries, and building software systems.

To know more and apply click here.  Earlier in January, Microsoft announced the launched of an initiative called ‘AI Odyssey’ that aims to skill 100,000 developers in India in the latest AI technologies and tools.

The program offers a comprehensive learning experience that helps developers acquire and demonstrate the relevant skills needed to execute critical projects using AI technologies that align with business goals and outcomes. 

The program has two levels that participants need to complete by January 31, 2024. The Participants completing both levels of challenges will also stand a chance to win a VIP Pass to attend the Microsoft AI Tour in Bangalore on February 8, 2024, and witness the revolutionary impact of generative AI. 

To participate in the AI Odyssey, developers need to register on aka.ms/AIOdyssey and access the learning modules and resources.
