Global IT services giant Accenture has announced a major promotion drive, set to elevate 15,000 employees in India in June 2025 as part of a broader global initiative.

Over the course of FY25, the company plans to promote 43,000 employees in India, reinforcing its commitment to talent recognition and workforce development.

The announcement was made by Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director of Accenture India, in an internal memo to employees.

The move aligns with Accenture’s revised promotion cycle, which was permanently shifted from December to June in September 2024 to better match client budget cycles and business visibility.

Revised Promotion Cycle at Accenture and Strategic Shift

Accenture follows a September-August financial year, and in September 2024, the company permanently shifted its promotion cycle from December to June.

The company aligned promotions with client spending patterns to improve visibility into IT budgets and service demand.

Accenture CEO Julie Sweet explained the rationale behind the shift, “We’ve now permanently shifted that promotion cycle, so we will do our big promotion cycle in June, and our smaller one in December, to better match when our clients are setting their budgets and we have better visibility.”

This adjustment helps Accenture optimize workforce planning, improving efficiency and talent management.

The company strategically times promotions to drive business growth and enhance employee retention.

Accenture Promotions: Financial Impact and Employee Benefits

Accenture will communicate base pay increases to employees between May 26-29, ensuring transparency in the promotion process.

The company has confirmed that bonus and performance equity decisions will follow the company’s established cycle.

Eligible employees will receive these compensation updates in December, ensuring alignment with financial planning.

In December 2024, Accenture implemented stay-at-level (base pay) increases for select employees.

Between June and December 2025, most Indian employees will receive base pay adjustments as part of Accenture’s strategic workforce plan.

These adjustments aim to ensure competitive compensation and strengthen talent retention across the company.

Accenture’s Workforce and Market Presence

Accenture is one of the largest employers in India’s IT services sector, with a workforce exceeding 300,000 employees.

Globally, the company employs 774,000 professionals, making it a dominant player in the technology consulting space.

In FY24, Accenture reported revenues of $64.90 billion, reflecting its strong market position and continued investment in talent development.
