Apple has announced that employees will receive three additional days off during Thanksgiving week, continuing a long-standing tradition initiated by co-founder Steve Jobs.

The practice, known internally as “Steve Days,” is intended to recognize employee contributions and offer time for rest and reflection at the end of the year.

In a companywide memo, CEO Tim Cook praised the workforce for its achievements in 2025 and confirmed that most U.S.-based teams will be off from Monday through Wednesday leading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Retail, AppleCare, and international teams will be allowed to use the extra days at a later time, depending on operational needs.

Tim Cook’s Memo Highlights Company Achievements

Tim’s message to employees emphasized pride in Apple’s performance and the impact of its products and services.

“I really could not be prouder of the impact we’re having on our customers and the opportunities we’re creating for our incredible developers and the world,” he wrote.

He framed the time off as both a thank-you and a celebration of Apple’s accomplishments this year.

The memo cited the successful launch of the iPhone 17 lineup, including the ultra-thin iPhone Air, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and AirPods Pro 3.

These products have seen strong demand globally, with the iPhone 17’s Cosmic Orange variant becoming particularly popular among Indian buyers.

A Strong Year for Apple’s Ecosystem

Beyond hardware, Apple’s broader ecosystem has also seen notable growth.

Apple TV+ received additional accolades, and the company’s developer tools continue to expand their reach.

Tim acknowledged the role employees played in these successes and encouraged them to take pride in the momentum Apple is building.

Looking ahead, Apple plans to introduce several new products in late 2025 and early 2026, including the M5 iPad Pro, AirTag 2, a refreshed Apple TV 4K, and updated MacBook models.

These developments signal continued investment in innovation and product differentiation.

Apple Reinforcing a Culture of Appreciation

The decision to offer extra time off reflects Apple’s ongoing commitment to employee well-being and recognition.

By continuing the “Steve Days” tradition, Tim reinforces a culture that values contributions and encourages balance.

The gesture also serves as a morale booster following a demanding product cycle and positions Apple as a company that prioritizes its workforce.

Employees have responded positively to the announcement, viewing it as a meaningful acknowledgment of their efforts.

While the additional days off are not new, their continued implementation under Tim’s leadership underscores Apple’s consistency in honoring its internal values.
