The company mistakenly paid 286 times an employee his salary last month. The company paid the employee 165,398,851 Chilean pesos (Rs 1.42 crore), instead of 500,000 pesos (Rs 43,000).

This incident took place in the human resources area of Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos (Cial).

On May 30, one of the company’s workers approached the deputy manager of the distribution centre to tell him that he noticed an error in the payment of his remuneration for May.

The employee informed that he has been paid in excess. On June 2, he came in with his lawyer and handed over his resignation.

The worker is now reported missing and the legal action has been taken by the company against the worker to recover the money they accidentally transferred to the worker.

The worker allegedly agreed to go to his bank to refund the amount that was paid in excess to him. He had mentioned that he overslept the money which is the actual reason behind not responding to the calls done earlier.

This was the last conversation that the company had with the employee. Post this there were no notifications from the bank informing the company that there has been a refund.
