Swiggy has unveiled “Mom’entum 2.0”, a multi-year, structured support program aimed at empowering working mothers across all phases of their parenting journey.
Building on its 2020 gender-neutral parental care policy, the initiative reflects Swiggy’s continued commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
The policy goes beyond statutory maternity leave, offering a wide range of benefits that address pre-parenthood planning, maternity transition, postpartum wellness, and career continuity.
Chief Human Resources Officer Girish Menon emphasized that motherhood is not a one-time event but a long, evolving journey.
“This initiative is our way of backing women not just as professionals, but as people navigating one of life’s most significant transitions,” he said.
Pre-Parenthood and Maternity Transition Support at Swiggy
Swiggy’s policy begins well before childbirth.
It offers financial assistance for IVF, adoption, and surrogacy, along with flexible work arrangements during fertility treatments.
Employees considering parenthood receive guidance and support through structured planning sessions.
To prepare teams for the transition, Swiggy conducts “What to Expect” sessions for managers and colleagues.
These sessions aim to build empathy and awareness, ensuring that expectant mothers are supported with sensitivity and understanding.
Extended Maternity Leave and Flexible Return Options
After the standard 26 weeks of maternity leave, mothers can opt for up to one year of work-from-home arrangements.
Alternatively, they may choose part-time roles with prorated pay, depending on their personal needs.
Swiggy guarantees role continuity, and returning mothers are offered at least three comparable internal job opportunities if they wish to explore new roles within the company.
The reintegration process is supported by a structured 30-60-90 day plan, involving HR, managers, and the internal Swiggy Moms Community.
This peer network provides mentorship and guidance from experienced Swiggy mothers, helping new moms navigate the transition back to work.
Postpartum Wellness and Career Development
Swiggy places strong emphasis on mental and physical wellness.
New mothers have access to certified mental health professionals, career coaches, and NLP practitioners to address challenges such as postpartum depression, identity shifts, and caregiving fatigue.
The company also provides dedicated wellness budgets for gym memberships, yoga classes, and other health services.
To ensure career progression is not disrupted, Swiggy protects performance ratings during maternity leave and processes promotions on schedule.
Returning mothers can participate in career development modules, group coaching, and one-on-one counselling focused on work-life balance and professional growth.
