India’s largest IT services provider company, TCS called media reports of an alleged recruitment scam “Incorrect” in the exchange filing on Friday, June 23, 2203. The company found it a breach of code by certain employees and vendors in subcontractor hiring.

Yesterday the company said in the exchange filing, “Recruitment activities in TCS are not handled by Resource Management Group (RMG) as alleged, therefore the reference to the alleged scam in the recruitment process is incorrect,”

“RMG is responsible for allocation of available resources to various projects and in case of any shortfall, fill such requirements through contractors.” the IT giant added.

TCS further said in the exchange filing that on receipt of the complaint the company launched a review to examine the allegations in the complaint based on review-

  • This does not involve any fraud by or against the company and has no financial impact.
  • The issue relates to a breach of the company’s Code of Conduct by certain employees and vendors providing contractors.
  • No key Managerial person in the company has been found to be involved.

Yesterday Mint and other media reported that a few senior officers at the company were accepting bribes from staffing firms for giving jobs to their candidates, for years. This has led to the company sacking four officials from its resource management group (RMG) and banning three staffing firms.
