NCS Portal Mobilizes Over 6.43 Crore Job Vacancies

National Career Service (NCS) Portal, launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has emerged as one of India’s most comprehensive digital platforms for employment facilitation.

As of July 2025, the portal has mobilized more than 6.43 crore job vacancies, reflecting its expanding role in connecting job seekers with opportunities across both government and private sectors.

Designed to offer career-related services such as job listings, vocational guidance, career counseling, and skill development resources, the NCS Portal is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve employability and streamline access to formal employment.

Employer Engagement and Expanding Reach

The portal has seen a significant rise in employer participation, with over 48 lakh employers registered as of July 10, 2025.

This includes small businesses, large enterprises, staffing agencies, and multinational corporations.

The growing employer base has helped diversify job listings across sectors such as manufacturing, retail, healthcare, logistics, and IT.

To further enhance employment opportunities, the Ministry has signed over 25 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent companies and platforms including TCS iON, Quikr, and Amazon.

These partnerships aim to integrate job listings, offer skill-building programs, and expand career counseling services available through the portal.

Technology-Driven Enhancements for Job Seekers

Recent updates to the NCS Portal have introduced AI-powered resume building tools, a multilingual interface, and a robust verification system to improve user experience and data accuracy.

These features help job seekers create tailored resumes, navigate listings more efficiently, and access services in regional languages.

The portal also includes a feedback mechanism, allowing users to share their experiences and suggest improvements.

This iterative approach ensures that the platform remains responsive to evolving user needs.

NCS Portal: Career Counseling and Vocational Guidance

A key feature of the NCS Portal is its emphasis on career counseling and vocational guidance, particularly for marginalized communities.

Over 1,182 career counselors are currently active on the platform, offering both online and offline support.

To date, the portal has facilitated more than 41 lakh career guidance sessions, helping individuals make informed decisions about their professional paths.

These services are especially valuable for students, first-time job seekers, and individuals from SC/ST backgrounds, who may face barriers in accessing conventional employment channels.
