Nasscom Foundation, in collaboration with IG Group, has successfully trained 2,000 marginalized youth under the Skilling and Employability Program for Youth.

The initiative, launched on May 12, 2025, focuses on employment-linked training, ensuring that participants gain technical and holistic development skills to become future-ready.

With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, the program prioritized women’s participation, with 60% of the trainees being female, fostering greater diversity in the workforce.

Structured Training Approach

Building on the success of its first cohort, this year’s program adopted a holistic learning model, combining foundational digital skills with specialized domain training.

  • 1,200 students completed the Digital 101 course, an introductory program designed to spark interest in emerging tech careers.
  • 800 students advanced through specialized domain courses, including BPM – Finance and Accounting, BPM – Banking, and Data Science & Analytics.

The training was conducted in person at partnering colleges and institutions, ensuring hands-on learning and direct industry exposure.

Employment Outcomes and Certification

As a direct result of the program, 480 students have secured employment opportunities, marking a significant step toward economic independence.

Upon successful completion of training, all participants received certificates, validating their newly acquired skills and enhancing their job market competitiveness.

Nasscom Foundation and IG Group: Leadership Perspectives

Jyoti Sharma, CEO of Nasscom Foundation, emphasized the importance of investing in youth skills.

She stated, “India’s young population, with over 54% below the age of 25, holds the key to the country’s future growth, but only if we invest in their skills and aspirations.”

Jyoti added, “Our ongoing partnership with IG Group stands as a testament to what is possible when industry and social impact come together.”

Anand Kadur, COO of IG Group Technology and Head of IG India, highlighted the transformative impact of the initiative.

He said, “Training and education are fundamental drivers of economic growth, and today, tech-specific skills are essential across every sector.”

Anand added, “Our partnership with Nasscom Foundation has been instrumental in equipping youth—especially those lacking skill development opportunities—to thrive in the digital economy.”

Nasscom Foundation Partners with IG Group: Faculty Development and Holistic Learning

To ensure high-quality training, the program also focused on faculty development, with 15 faculty members undergoing a structured 30-hour Faculty Development Program.

This initiative strengthened their expertise in Data Science, Analytics, and BPM, improving teaching methodologies and student engagement.

Beyond technical training, the program integrated holistic development initiatives, including:

  • Soft skills and communication training to enhance workplace readiness.
  • Guest lectures and expert sessions connecting classroom learning with real-world applications.
  • Career guidance and mentorship to support career planning and goal setting.
  • Industrial visits providing firsthand exposure to corporate environments.
