One Reddit user shared a WhatsApp conversation with the manager/supervisor, that showed that the employee was suffering from fever and requested leave.

The post has become viral and received over 6,000 upvotes. However, the manager/ supervisor replied that the leave could be granted on a doctor’s note.

The image was shared with the headline, “Keep in mind I texted hours before my shift…. THEN on the job application, it stated an hourly rate, which turned out to be false. instead it terrible commission rates no hourly.”

“The day I interviewed, the person that was supposed to interview me, wasn’t even there. I got my uniform smelling like straight KUSH lmfao so I decided to test the waters and call out”, the headline added.

The Employee said in the chat, “I hate to do this, but I woke up with cold sweats all night, with a fever creeping up and every part of my body is aching I don’t think I’ll be able to make it today.”

“Please get a doctor’s note for an excused absence”, the manager/supervisor said.

The Employee said, “It’s been three years since I visited a doctor. I’m don’t have money to visit a doctor for a fever. I earned the equivalent of $8 per hour yesterday. Does the company cover the doctor’s visit?”

“No, but ur required to be at work unless u can provide a doctor’s note”, the manager/supervisor said.

The Employee said, “OK but have fun sitting in the break room all day playing on the phone. I’m out.”

The post has raised concerns for employees related to work, office, and health. The employers deal with restrictions when they request any sort of leave.
