A social metaverse company, Flam has announced the first walk-in recruitment experience in the metaverse through their One Above platform.

As a part of its growth strategy, Flam aims to recruit 100+ employees within the next six months across product, design, marketing, and technology roles.

The company is looking to hire mid-to senior-level positions across departments, with a focus on product, engineering, design, and technology roles.

The process will be such that each candidate will be requested to come on the stage and introduce themselves. The candidates will be able to share his/her screen, showcase a presentation, and even turn on the camera to show their real selves.

There will be a reaction feature that will also be installed for the participants to share their reactions after every presentation.

Candidates will also be able to place any image, video, audio, 3D object, etc. in the scene and embed external links to it.

According to the company statement, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a one-on-one interview round with the department heads. Each room is designed as per the line of work. For instance, the design room will have an artistic feel to it, whereas the technology room will showcase a tech-savvy theme.

Flam has also been cognizant to facilitate all the features of a regular virtual call along with an immersive experience to make it interactive and engaging for potential employees.

Shourya Agarwal, CEO, and Co-Founder, Flam said, “The pandemic significantly accelerated the metaverse adoption timescale. As companies are growing bullish on unlocking this emerging opportunity, Flam is driving the metaverse adoption by creating bite-sized AR customer experiences. We are expanding in a way that eventually millions of users will live, connect and socialize in the Flam metaverse.”

He further added, “While the world is still looking for methods to use metaverse platforms to meet unmet social demands at home, work, and education, we have launched an industry-first initiative, OneAbove aims to augment our employee experience and attempts to eliminate any form of prejudices. The platform will cut across the 3E’s of the recruitment process namely excitement, experience, and evaluation of the candidates which differentiates it from a regular interview.”

OneAbove, an in-house metaverse recruitment platform, was curated with an investment of USD 50,000 and a team of 25 employees within a month. The platform’s design represents Flam’s workplace and its culture. It can host a meeting of 50 people at the same time.

The company aspires to give a first-hand experience of metaverse to all the walk-in candidates. Flam is also in talks with colleges to aid students with an understanding of the metaverse.

Post signing-up on Flam’s career page the candidate will be mailed a link to the OneAbove platform. The candidates are not required to have any additional hardware equipment, they can enter the metaverse using their laptops, and desktops.

The journey will begin with the interviewee landing on the platform and selecting his/her avatar to interact with the recruiter from over 45 avatars.

At the entrance, they will see a virtual lobby with Flam HR team who will guide them towards the stage. Each round of walk-in interviews will have a maximum of 15 candidates in the lobby at the same time.

Once all the candidates are in the space, the recruiters will take a group selfie with all the avatars. Candidates can even take their first solo selfie in the metaverse.
