Capgemini announces new facility in Chennai to invest Rs 1,000 cr

A global business and technology transformation partner, Capgemini announces a new facility in Chennai with the capacity of 5,000 seats.

The company will invest approximately Rs 1,000 crore over the next three years. This facility is scheduled for completion in April 2027.

Vijay Chandramohan, Vice President and Head of Corporate Real Estate Services for APAC and Middle East, Capgemini, said, “We are delighted to commence the construction of our new facility in Chennai. This pivotal investment for Capgemini showcases our dedication to innovation and sustainable growth in Tamil Nadu.”

“As a leader that is shaping the future of industry we are investing in local talent and enhancing the well-being of our communities”, Vijay Chandramohan added.

Vijay Chandramohan further added, “This expansion demonstrates our strategic vision and commitment to collaborating with local government efforts to drive the country’s economic growth.”

In March, Capgemini announced the inauguration of its new office in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), Gandhinagar. The company’s India operation is also the Group’s largest platform for innovation and delivery.

As part of its expansion plan, Capgemini aims to create more employment opportunities, particularly for women and underprivileged individuals. By doing so, Capgemini is contributing not only to the economic growth of Gujarat but also to the social development of India.

“We are thrilled to inaugurate our new office in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, jointly with Ms. Mona K. Khandhar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, as we celebrate Capgemini’s presence in Gujarat,” said Mr. Ashwin Yardi, CEO of Capgemini in India. 

“This expansion reaffirms our commitment to fostering innovation, empowering local talent, and contributing to the socio-economic development of Gujarat and India as a whole”, Ashwin Yardi added.
