Wipro has sued former CFO Jatin Dalal who moved to Cognizant

An Indian multinational corporation, Wipro has filed a complaint against former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal who had joined Cognizant recently. The lawsuit is filed in Bengaluru’s civil court.

According to the reports of TOI, The hearing is scheduled for January 3. Jatin Dalal has applied, requesting the court to refer the matter to arbitration. 

However, the reason for the complaint hasn’t been specified. And, Sightsin Plus directly hasn’t verified the report.

Jatin Dalal joined Cognizant from Wipro, a multinational technology services and consulting company, where, since April 2015, he served as Chief Financial Officer and assumed additional responsibilities as President in 2019.

Previously, he was CFO of Wipro’s Global IT Business from 2011 to 2015 in Bangalore, and before that, he served as Wipro’s UK Head of Finance for the Europe region and as the Global Finance Head for the company’s Energy & Utilities, Health Care, and Manufacturing business units.

In September, Cognizant Technology appointed Jatin Dalal as the CFO with the appointment anticipated to be effective in December 2023.

He will report to Ravi Kumar S, Cognizant’s Chief Executive Officer, and oversee, among other responsibilities, Cognizant’s worldwide financial planning and analysis, accounting and controllership, tax, treasury and internal audit, corporate development, investor relations, and enterprise risk management functions.

Recently, IT giant, Wipro has filed a complaint against an ex-healthcare head for breach of contract for violating non-compete covenants in his employment contract by joining Wipro’s direct competitor Cognizant.

Moreover, according to the report of the TOI, Wipro’s complaint was against the employee Mohd Haque for allegedly breaching the non-compete clause in his employment contract.
