The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has announced a paid internship program for final-year engineering students at its Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL) in Hyderabad.
The program runs for six months and offers real-world exposure to research projects in defense electronics, radar systems, and signal processing.
Internship Details
- Duration: 6 months (full-time and continuous)
- Location: DLRL, DRDO Campus, Hyderabad
- Start Date: Expected to begin in August 2025
- Monthly Requirement: At least 15 days of attendance per month is mandatory
- Stipend: ₹30,000 total—paid in two parts. ₹15,000 will be paid after the first 3 months and ₹15,000 after the completion of the 6 months.
Interns must maintain required attendance throughout. Only those who complete the full term will receive the full stipend and the internship completion certificate.
Who Can Apply
- Final-year B.E./B.Tech students from the 2025–26 batch
- Eligible streams: Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE), and Mechanical Engineering
- Candidates must not have any backlogs
- Applicants must be Indian citizens
- Students must submit a referral or sponsorship letter from their college or institute
- A police verification certificate is also required at the time of joining
This internship is only open to students in their final year. Applications from students in other years will not be accepted.
Work & Learning Areas
Interns will work directly with scientists and engineers on various research and development projects. Focus areas include:
- Radar system design
- Signal processing
- Electronic warfare systems
- Antenna and communication systems
- Embedded programming
- Mechanical design and testing (for Mechanical Engineering candidates)
This experience allows students to apply their academic knowledge to real defense research projects.
