Accenture India aids employees with adoption program

According to ET report, In India, Accenture, a multinational professional services firm, has introduced a program to assist employees choosing to adopt a child.

This program offers financial aid for adoption-related expenses. Each Accenture employee can access this benefit for up to two instances of adoption.

“The initiative strengthens our existing policies and programmes to support employees who are parents or those who seek to embrace parenthood,” said Lakshmi C, Managing Director, and Lead – HR at Accenture in India.

It underscores the company’s commitment to fostering a supportive work environment and addressing the needs of its employees beyond professional realms, extending to personal and familial aspirations.

In 2023,  Accenture has revised its leave policy for India. The company has categorized its new eaves under three categories.

Firstly, the company will be providing earned leave to its employees. It has been reduced from 24 to 18. Secondly, the employees will benefit from casual leaves and sick leaves have been increased from 7 to 12. The leave policy is effective from September 1, 2023.

Moreover, the employees can carry forward 45 days of earned leaves earlier company allowed employees to carry forward 30 leaves.

The earned leaves can be availed by prior approval. The employees will be permitted to take a maximum of two consecutive days of casual leave within a fortnight. Additionally, for more than two leaves approval is required.

Recently in February, Accenture India said that it has 20,000 GenAI proficient staffers.

Chief Leadership & Human Resources Officer Ellyn Shook, said, “Our talent strategy is powered by our digital core.”

“We want to double the number of people with data and AI skills from 40,000 to 80,000 in the next three years. And to do that, we’ve defined 12 roles that didn’t exist before”, Ellyn Shook added.
