A clean and plant-based holistic wellness brand, OZiva has launched a new employee policy that will aim to support new mothers.

The company is providing a work from home (WFH) option for mothers with children upto the age of 3 years. This new policy will be applicable to all full-time employees of OZiva including those on probation.

Aarti Gill, Co-Founder, OZiva says “One of the main concerns that I have heard from women are having to manage their babies while ensuring that they are able to meet their work commitments. Sometimes it’s due to the lack of support and at times.”

She further added, “It’s the stress of managing home with work. More often than not they end up choosing to take a break from their career after maternity leave. Almost 50% of our workforce are women and 58% of leadership positions are held by women. We hope that they do not have to choose between their career and family.”

Nirav Shah, Head HR, OZiva said, “Over the years I have seen many talented women quitting their jobs after becoming mothers. While for some this is a conscious choice, for many it is a lack of not having another option. With the permanent WFH option we hope to bring a positive change in this scenario and build an inclusive culture that provides equal opportunities to everyone.”

There have been various surveys and articles that suggest the issues and difficulties working mothers face returning to work post maternity break.

They are being discriminated at work, find it difficult to manage time, and are often subjected to high levels of stress. They also face issues in salaries after they take a career break and join back the workforce.

This policy will definitely help female employees to overcome all these issues. This will also help the company in retaining its female employees.
